My latest works are all part of a series titled Leave Your Worries Behind.
Some of them portray tranquil interiors, entrances of old homes, walkways etc where the mysterious depths invite the viewer into its shaded rest, peace and quiet.
Some portray the entrances of ancient temples, which offer a safe haven from the everyday stresses and worries of this world.
The human figures set against the background of these architectural settings, have turned their back on their troubles and are seeking a safe sanctuary to rest a while---either in a quiet temple or in the comforting shadows of an ancestral home or in a shaded garden.
Sometimes the human presence is suggested only by the chappals left behind--in some of the works the chappals represent all your troubles you shed outside when you are entering your sanctuary.
In a few paintings, the shadows casts by women behind them represent the worries they are shedding as they walk towards light.
The sun series with the energy of the sun captured in blazing reds crimson and oranges also form part of my collection.
All my works continue my exploration of the element of perspective as well as textures. This time I have combined the palette knife and the brush to achieve interesting textures on the surface of the canvas.
I have also experimented with more varied colours in the architectural settings---deep Prussian blues, emerald and sap greens, crimson, oranges, burnt sienna, etc.
There is a feeling of tranquility and sense of calm in each of my works---in the body language of the human figures, in the soothing colours, in the shadows, etc.
